Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Transport Logistics Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is a New Zealand freight brokerage based in Christchurch. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the thirteen Information Privacy Principles (IPPs).

2. Information we collect

We collect personal and business information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services, including:

  • Contact details — name, company, email, phone, postal and physical address.
  • Cargo and consignment details — pickup/delivery addresses, contact people at each end, cargo description, value and weight.
  • Billing details — billing address, GST number, account details and payment history.
  • Identification — where required for customs, port security or carrier compliance.
  • Website data — IP address, device, browser type and pages visited (via cookies and analytics).
  • Correspondence — emails, quote requests, support enquiries and call notes.

3. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you request a quote, make a booking, contact us, or use our website. We may also receive information from carriers, customs brokers, port operators and credit reference agencies in the course of arranging your freight.

4. How we use your information

  • To prepare quotations and arrange the carriage of your goods.
  • To communicate with carriers, ports, customs and other parties involved in your shipment.
  • To invoice you and manage your account.
  • To meet our legal, regulatory and security obligations.
  • To improve our website, services and customer experience.
  • To send you service updates and (with your consent) marketing communications.

5. Disclosure to third parties

We share information only as needed to deliver our services, including with:

  • Shipping lines, road carriers, rail operators and warehousing providers.
  • Customs brokers, port and border agencies (e.g. NZ Customs, MPI).
  • Insurance providers where you have requested cover.
  • Professional advisors, IT service providers and payment processors.
  • Government or law enforcement agencies where required by law.

Some recipients may be located outside New Zealand. Where this occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient protects your information to a standard comparable to the New Zealand Privacy Act.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure traffic and improve performance. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some site features may not work properly.

7. Storage and security

Your information is stored on secure systems and is accessible only to authorised staff and service providers.
